If you want to become cabin crew with IndiGo, you have probably seen one word again and again Unstop.

And most students get confused here:

“Is Unstop an exam? Is it an IndiGo website? Do I have to pay for it?”

Let’s make it simple. Here is exactly what Unstop is and how the full IndiGo cabin crew selection works step by step.

First, what is Unstop?

Unstop is a hiring website. It is not owned by IndiGo.

IndiGo just uses Unstop to run its cabin crew hiring drives online. So when you get an Unstop link, it only means IndiGo is taking applications and the first test through that website.

In short: Unstop is the door. IndiGo is the company behind the door.

The IndiGo selection process, step by step

Here is how the journey usually goes. (One thing to remember the order of the later rounds can change a little from one drive to another. So focus on being ready for all of them.)

Step 1: Apply through the Unstop link

IndiGo posts a “Cabin Crew Online Drive” on Unstop. You register, fill in your details and apply. Make sure you meet the basic eligibility requirements before applying age, height, education and English.

Step 2: Online Assessment (Round 1)

This is the first and most important filter. It is an online test, mostly checking your communication and English skills, along with some basic aptitude.

Many students get stopped right here not because they are not good, but because they did not practise their English and confidence before the test. So don’t take this round lightly.

Step 3: Invitation to the next rounds

If you clear the online assessment, IndiGo sends you an invitation by email. Only the candidates who pass Round 1 reach this stage.

This email is important. Read it carefully, because it usually includes:

  • The venue / address where the interview will be held.
  • A link to register for the interview.

You must complete the registration through that link. After registering, you will get a registration confirmation code and you have to bring this code with you on the interview day.

So, before you leave for the interview, make sure you have:

  • Your registration confirmation code (saved or printed).
  • Your resume.
  • Proper interview attire and grooming you should walk in looking neat, professional and airline ready from the very first moment.

Step 4: Group Discussion, Medical Check & Personal Interview

Now come the face to face rounds. These usually include:

  • Group Discussion (GD) – to see how you speak, listen and behave in a group.
  • Medical / BMI check – to confirm you meet the health and fitness standards.
  • One to one personal interview -a direct interview, often with senior HR.

The order of these can change depending on the drive, but you must be prepared for each one.

Important: IndiGo is very strict about tattoos and scars

This is something many students don’t know until it’s too late.

IndiGo is very particular about tattoos, scars and marks on visible areas of the body like the face, neck, hands and lower arms.

During the grooming and medical rounds, these areas are checked closely. A visible tattoo or a noticeable scar or mark can become a reason for rejection, even if you have cleared everything else.

So before you apply:

  • Know which parts of your body are counted as “visible” in uniform.
  • If you have a tattoo in a visible area, understand it can affect your selection.
  • Be honest about scars or marks don’t try to hide them, just be aware of the standard.

This is part of the airline’s grooming and presentation rules and it applies to almost every major airline, not just IndiGo.

Remember: IndiGo never charges money for selection

One more important point.

IndiGo does not charge any money to select you. The application, the assessment and the interviews are free.

If anyone asks you for money “to get you selected in IndiGo,” it is a scam. A real airline never works like that. Stay alert and protect yourself.

How to get ready for the IndiGo process

The students who clear IndiGo are not lucky they are prepared. To be one of them, work on:

  • Communication and confident English – this decides your very first round on Unstop.
  • Group discussion practice – how you speak and listen in a group.
  • Grooming and presentation – clean, simple, professional and within airline standards.
  • Medical and fitness awareness – including knowing the tattoo and scar rules early.
  • Mock interviews – real practice for the personal interview, not just theory.

At Bloom and Fly Academy in Jaipur, we train students for exactly this from clearing the online assessment to handling the GD, medical and personal interview with confidence. We also guide you honestly on grooming standards, so you walk in fully ready and face no surprises.

In short

  • Unstop is the website IndiGo uses to run its cabin crew drives it is not an exam by itself.
  • Round 1 is an online assessment, mostly on communication.
  • Clearing it leads to GD, medical/BMI and a personal interview (order may vary).
  • IndiGo is strict about visible tattoos, scars and marks know this before applying.
  • IndiGo never charges money for selection.

If you understand the process early and prepare the right way, your chances go up a lot.
